Born to her mother named Billie, Cameron Diaz had a German ancestor for a father. Her family described her as an independent, tough and adventurous kid. At the age of sixteen, she had left home and decided to live in the various locations of Morocco, Paris, Mexico, Australia and Japan.
At the age of twenty-one, she returned to California and worked as a model in an agency. She also auditioned for the female leading role in the film “The Mask”. Despite having no acting experience, she rose to stardom that the film became one of the biggest hits in 1994.
She decided to turn down her high-profile roles and spent her three years honing her skills in acting, in the independent films entitled “Feeling Minnesota”, “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and “The Last Supper”.
